Assisi

This medieval city of Assisi, built on a hilltop, is the birthplace of Saint Francis. Due to its beloved medieval art masterpieces, such as the Basilica of San Francesco and paintings by Cimabue, Pietro Lorenzetti, Simone Martini, and Giotto, Assisi remains a reference point for the development of Italian and European art and architecture. We will tour the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Basilica of San Francesco, a Roman amphitheater, and the city center.
